Mission
To provide students with tools to improve their reading skills, executive functioning, and learning outcomes, regardless of their current skills, through a multi-sensory reading program and a mindfulness yoga practice.
My Approach
I combine yoga with direct, systematic Orton-Gillingham reading instruction to improve educational outcomes for students in grades K-12.
Why Reading & Yoga?
Reading instruction is routinely delivered in a stressful environment for the struggling learner. Mindfulness, movement, and mental preparedness through yoga therapy techniques teach the struggling reader to lean into the discomfort of learning. Yoga can address difficulties associated with reading anxiety and frustration, as well as neurodiversity such as ADHD and Autism.
Philosophy
All children can learn and succeed! Learning best takes place with a multi-sensory approach, systematic direct instruction, and executive functioning support.
